Disclaimer and risk disclosure
Software makes bookkeeping faster, but it cannot take responsibility for your business. This page explains the main risks of using Ivoric Billing. It is part of our Terms of Service: by accepting the Terms you confirm that you have read and accept these risks.
Not professional advice
Nothing in Ivoric Billing — tax rates, HSN/SAC suggestions, GST return figures, reports, health scores, forecasts, subsidy estimates, help articles, AI answers or messages from our team — is tax, legal, accounting, financial or investment advice. Ask a qualified chartered accountant, tax practitioner or lawyer before making decisions about your business.
Risks you accept
- Your entries: every figure comes from what you and your team enter, import or confirm. Wrong entries, rates, place of supply or duplicate imports give wrong invoices, stock, accounts and returns.
- Changing tax rules: GST rates, rules, schemas and portal formats change, sometimes with immediate effect. We update the app as we learn of changes, but there can be a delay and our data may not cover your exact case.
- Returns and e-documents: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, composition returns, e-invoice and e-way bill data are prepared for you to review and file yourself. Mistakes in filed returns can lead to tax demands, interest, late fees, penalties and loss of input tax credit, which are your responsibility.
- Calculations and rounding: amounts are calculated with exact decimals and rounding rules that may differ from what you, your customers or a portal expect.
- Offline billing: bills made on a device without internet stay on that device until they sync. If the device, the browser or its data is lost or cleared first, those bills can be lost; two devices can also create conflicts that need your review.
- AI features: bill photos, voice commands and answers are read by AI models that can misread, miss or invent details. Check before you confirm.
- Third parties: government portals, GST Suvidha Providers, banks, UPI apps, payment gateways, WhatsApp, e-mail, SMS, Google, online stores, marketplaces, hosting and storage providers can be unavailable or slow, change without notice, charge fees or reject data.
- Availability and data loss: servers, networks and software can fail. Backups are made every night, but a failure, a cyber-attack or a mistake can still cause downtime or the loss of recent data.
- Security: we protect accounts and data with reasonable measures, but your passwords, one-time codes, devices and the access you give others are your responsibility. Anyone with your sign-in can act as you.
- Messages: bills, reminders and order updates to your customers are sent on your instruction and in your name. Having their consent and the content of the messages are your responsibility.
- Estimates and forecasts: stock forecasts, reorder suggestions, festival plans, solar sizing and subsidy estimates are approximations from assumptions and past data, and can be wrong.
- Imports and migration: data from other software, spreadsheets or Tally may be read or mapped differently from what you expect. Review every preview before importing and check balances afterwards.
What you should always do
- Review every invoice, return and payment before you issue, file or make it.
- Reconcile your books with your bank statements and the GST portal regularly.
- Have a qualified professional review your returns and year-end accounts.
- Download your data regularly and keep your own backup.
- Give each person only the access they need, and remove people who leave.
- Keep the licences, registrations and records your trade and the law require.
Limits of our responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any loss, tax, interest, penalty, claim or damage arising from these risks. Where the law does not allow our liability to be excluded, it is limited as set out in our Terms of Service.
